Cochrane Cystic Fibrosis is an enthusiastic team of people who are interested in producing high quality systematic reviews of interventions relating to the care of people of with cystic fibrosis (CF) and to their families. Our reviews currently only include evidence from randomised controlled trials (RCTs), but we are working to develop reviews which include other trial designs. We have over 300 active contributors to the Group, nearly 200 of these are review authors located across the world. We also have nearly 100 external peer reviewers, of whom several are consumer reviewers.
Our editorial base is at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham. This central office approves the registration of titles and co-ordinates the development of protocols and completed reviews until they are ready to be submitted to the Cochrane Editorial Service who arrange peer reviewing at each stage of the editorial process and submits the new and updated reviews to the Cochrane Library.
At the editorial base, we also maintain a register of randomised and controlled clinical trials in CF. This register is regularly updated and includes trials identified by searching electronic databases such as MEDLINE as well as by handsearching relevant journals and books of conference proceedings. This valuable resource is available to anyone who is working on a review for Cochrane CF. Our trials register also forms part of the database of trials contained in the Cochrane Library.
