Dr Alfonso Iorio is a Professor and the Chair in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (formerly Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics) and the Divisions of Hematology and Thromboembolism and General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He is Director of the Health Information Research Unit and Director of the Haemophilia Clinic at McMaster. Dr Iorio is on the Editorial Board of the journals Haemophilia and the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He is the Past-Chair of the Data and Demographics Committee and Co-Chair, World Bleeding Disorders Registry, World Federation of Hemophilia. He is a convenor of the GRADE Working Group on Prognosis and member of the Cochrane Prognosis Methods Group.

Professor Mike Makris is Professor of Haemostasis & Thrombosis in the Department of Cardiovascular Science at the University of Sheffield. He originally joined the University of Sheffield in 1989 as a Lecturer in Haematology. Following completion of his haematology training he was appointed initially Senior Lecturer in 1994 followed by Reader in Haemostasis and Thrombosis in 2002. He became Professor of Haemostasis & Thrombosis in 2013 and holds an Honorary contract with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Haematologist. Professor Makris is the Director of the Sheffield Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre. He is an editor on the journal Haemophilia and an editorial board member for the British Journal of Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
